Aeromar formally welcomed the new Austin to Mexico City non-stop route this morning at ABIA. Although these flights officially began on October 21st, the inaugural party was held today. Passengers and guests were treated to some good traditional food and music played by local guitar group, Cienfuegos. Guests of the ceremony were given a tour of their Bombardier CRJ-200 aircraft with a capacity for 50 passengers.
Aeromar Airlines, Transportes Aeromar, S.A. de C.V, is headquartered in Mexico City. Its first flight was in November of 1987, from Toluca to Acapulco. It currently operates 14 ATR-42 turboprop aircraft and 2 of these CRJ-200 jets to over 25 destinations. The flights to Mexico City will depart Austin at 9:45 AM and arrive in Mexico City at around noon time. Returning flights will leave Mexico City at 6:38 AM and arrive around 8:55 AM in Austin.
