Advertising and incentives being pushed to help sluggish car sales

Irv Miller (Toyota spokesperson) says Toyota sees signs of an economic recovery. The fourth quarter is usually a strong sales period for automakers such as Toyota and Honda. As a result of the “cash for clunkers” program, many Honda and Toyota dealerships are extremely short on inventory.

Both automakers are ramping up production on the 2010 models and the fourth quarter is when Toyota typically rolls out their “Toyotathon” media campaign.
