Advance Base at TT's on Thursday

Owen Ashworth, the mopey mastermind behind Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, comes to TT's on December 1st with his new band, Advance Base.

With a sound a bit softer and more organic but not so dissimilair to the lonesome electronica of his old band, Ashworth's new project has recorded only a few singles so far (including covers of the Carter Family and John Prine) that are linked on the Advance Base website.

On the first night of December, there's a good chance that Advance Base will break out unhappy holiday tunes such as Christmas in Oakland or Prine's Christmas in Prison. So if you're in a blue Christmas mood and feeling, um... painfully alone, well, Advance Base is right there with you.

At TT's on Thursday att 11:00. with Cuffs at 10:00 and Vermont's Hello Shark opening up at 9:00. Tickets $9.
