Adrien Broner is still this ‘flashy, young, rich and famous guy’

Adrien Broner said Friday that Carlos Molina is “going to lose.”

Broner (27-1, 22 KOs) will meet the 28-year-old Molina (17-1-1-1, 7 KOs) on May 3 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“The Problem” last vacated the squared circle in December after getting unanimously outscored by Marcos Maidana.

According to the Associated Press, the 30-year-old Maidana (35-3, 31 KOs) officially trumped Broner by counts of 115-110, 116-109 and 117-109 to capture the WBA welterweight title.

A powerful and beloved Argentinean, Maidana outworked Broner and floored the loudmouth in the second and eighth rounds.

Also a past junior welterweight champion, “El Chino” was far more active than Broner and landed bruising punches throughout the 36-minute slugfest.

“Everybody is looking for Adrien Broner to be this new humble guy,” said Broner, 24, a Cincinnati native who is smitten with Floyd Mayweather.

“Well, if you’re looking for Adrien Broner to be this new humble guy, you won’t get it. I’m still the same fresh, flashy, young, rich and famous guy. I’m a young man, and I respect every fighter, but I’m ready to fight. I’m happy Carlos Molina took this fight, but he might be looking to give me another loss. I hope he doesn’t come to lose, but he’s going to lose.”

Molina (17-1-1-1, 7 KOs), who compiled an impressive amateur record of 105-20, hasn’t performed since suffering a 10th round TKO to Amir Khan in December 2012.

Broner is a fragile, and largely unaccomplished, windbag.

However, Molina possesses feathery fists and his extended inactivity can’t be overlooked.

With blinding speed and greater overall skills, Adrien Broner should manhandle Molina at 140-pounds.

Although he won’t “come to lose,” Carlos Molina will fall within eight rounds to this “flashy, young, rich and famous guy.”
