Adrien Broner and Gavin Rees discuss Saturday's clash

Earlier today, Adrien Broner and Gavin Rees took part in the final press conference for Saturday's lightweight title bout, which takes place at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

"What can I say? I'm 23. I'm young and I'm getting it," said Broner, who is making the first defense of his title, after blasting out Antonio DeMarco late last year.

"I don't underestimate him [Rees]. If we stood face-to-face, I probably couldn't see him, but I respect him as a fighter," added Broner.

However in that same breath, Broner is confident that he'll be able to take out Rees before the night is over.

"I am not about to miss the boulder on this man's shoulders. He is going to be there all night or until I put him to sleep. We are going to be eating ice cream in no time," proclaimed Broner.

Rees for his part wasn't too thrilled with Broner's less-than-kind words, and says he is unimpressed with what Broner has done up to this point.

"His attitude stinks man. He shows fighters no respect, but he hasn't even earned the right to do that. What has he done? I've been in the States for five weeks now and American boxing fans don't like him. They tell me they hope I beat him and shut him up. I think he acts like a fool for no reason and no one really likes that," said Rees.

"Who has he fought?" asked Rees. "I've seen his fights and half of those guys just stood in front of him letting him dictate the pace of the fight. I'm not going to let him do that. This is the first fight that I have trained away from home because I'm going to show him I'm no walk in the park."

Upon hearing that Broner will be looking for a knockout, Rees stated, "I have to watch for his right uppercut which he throws from down low, but he's not the best on his feet either. Work rate is going to be important."

After proclaiming that he could see himself going up to 154 pounds at some point, Broner declared that Rees would be knocked out.

"Put your glasses on because I am going to shine [Saturday night]. Hook, right, goodnight."
