Big Stone Gap is all atwitter because of Elizabeth Taylor's upcoming visit. The year is 1978 and Taylor is married to then Senate candidate and later Senator John Warner. Most know the story of the chicken bone from John Belushi's hilarious portrayal of Taylor on Saturday Night Live.
In a press release from the Governor's office Trigiani said “Big Stone Gap and its wonderful residents will always hold a special place in my heart. I am delighted that I will be able to revisit my home in the mountains of Southwest Virginia to shoot the film version of my novel.”
Trigiani, who grew up in Big Stone Gap, originally wrote the book as a screenplay and later turned into a novel that launched her career as a successful author.
Filming will begin this fall.
