Adriana Latonio took on a song by Aretha Franklin and it paid off on "American Idol" Wednesday.
Performing a soulful and moving rendition of "Ain't No Way," Latonio earned praise from the entire panel of judges.
"Now the night has started. It's a big song," Keith Urban said admitting that he tried his best not to applaud and cheer. "It was really hard not to react because it was so damn good."
Noting the fact that Latonio showed no signs of nervousness, Nicki Minaj said she was poised and ready.
"Hello little lady bug. How are you? I did not see one ounce of fear in you. I think that you're poised and ready. So congratulations little lady bug," said Minaj.
Agreeing with Nicki Minaj, Randy Jackson said "I was like yo, this girl's a pro."
Looking at the fact that "Ain't No Way" is not an easy song to sing, Mariah Carey said Adriana Latonio did well with her version of the song.
"How do you feel? That's a big song. I was really proud of you and really happy for you. That's Aretha Franklin. I really loved how you came through with your version of the song," said Carey.
With positive reviews from all of the judges, Adriana Latonio was forced to wait for a final decision. After watching fellow hopefuls, like Amber Holcomb and Angela Miller, passed through to the next round, Latonio was selected as the night's final hopeful to be moved forward as a finalist.
"American Idol" returns Thursday night on FOX.
