Adrian's Tavern keeps it original

Unaffected by the rapidly changing world around it, Adrian’s Tavern is a quiet, frozen in time establishment on 48th and Chicago that has been serving A-1 burgers to the community for decades.

It’s the kind of bar where everybody knows your name. The bartenders seldom change and regulars are plenty!

The building it occupies has been around since the 1930’s but it didn’t become Adrian’s until 1963.

And the look and feel of it hasn’t changed much in almost 50 years of existence.

Perhaps that is exactly what keeps people coming back. With the information overload and craziness of today’s world, it’s a relief to step inside a place like Adrian’s and get a feel for the simplicity that once was.

Having one of the best burgers in town doesn’t hurt either. A couple of it’s most famous burgers are the Juicy Lucy and Lurtsie burger, named after former Viking “Benchwarmer” Bob Lurtsema, who still stops in from time to time.

The menu features other American favorites like fried chicken, sandwiches and fish-n-chips.

The grill is right up front next to the bar allowing guests to watch and smell their food being prepared.

Adrian’s serves beer and wine, and they have a pretty nice selection!

It has four old-school TVs and an arcade in the back. The Parkway Theater is next door, so it has always been a popular place to grab a quick burger before or after the movie.

From March-October Adrian’s also offers catering for sporting events, picnics, and various other gatherings in and around Minneapolis. Not only do they serve the food and clean it up, but they bring the grill and cook it on site!

Burgers, pitchers, sports, arcades and hanging out on the back patio, that’s a night at Adrian’s Tavern.
