Fans of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson are devastated to learn his young son is in critical condition at the hospital, apparently on life support after being abused. TMZ shared the latest details on Oct. 11, and Minnesota Vikings fans are heartbroken for the NFL star.
TMZ reports that Adrian Peterson's son, a 2-year-old, is on life support, and there has been no brain activity since Thursday evening. The boy's identity has not been shared, though multiple sources indicate this is not Adrian Peterson, Jr. as had initially been speculated.
So far what seems to have happened is the young boy was beaten by the mother's boyfriend, and Adrian Peterson's son was admitted to a hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D. Joseph Patterson, 27, is said to have been arrested and faces charges of battery of an infant and aggravated felony assault.
According to TMZ, the child suffered severe head injuries. The latest updates indicate that the young boy will be monitored for the next 24 hours, and if there is no improvement in the condition of Adrian Peterson's son, the boy's mother wants to take him off life support and donate his organs.
It is believed that Adrian Peterson rushed to his son's side Wednesday after the incident, but has since returned to Minnesota. Peterson so far has not made any public comments on the situation. Fans of the Minnesota Vikings and Adrian Peterson will be closely following the situation and hoping the condition turns around for the young boy.
Update: Sadly TMZ is now reporting that Adrian Peterson's son has died. His family removed life support Friday afternoon.
