Every day there are thousands of homeless pets in shelters in metro Atlanta who all have the same wish - a forever home. They are dreaming of waking up in a home where they are loved and cherished and are a member of the family.

Each week I will be featuring pets from local shelters and rescue groups who want to be your furry forever friend. These adorable sweethearts want nothing more than their very own human and a warm place to sleep at night.

Today’s featured pet is Missy, a three-year old black female Bombay kitty, from RescueCats. Here is more about Missy from Bill Crockett, Assistant Adoption Coordinator for RescueCats:

Missy is going to be three years old in September and came into our care about two years ago with her kittens. She was a very good mother and very protective of them. She is solid black and very loving. She seems to prefer men over women, but likes both. She will sit in your lap for pets and cuddles for as long as you will let her. Missy has come a long way since we got her. She gets along with dogs as long as they give her space. She is spayed, current on her shots, and microchipped. Missy has waited a long time for her forever home. Could someone give this loving girl her wish?

All of our cats that are one year old or older have had their adoption fee reduced by $15 the month of June to help celebrate our 15th birthday.

Click here to apply for Missy. Her adoption fee is $95 in June ($15 off the regular $110 fee) plus $10 for microchip registration.

About RescueCats (from the website)

RescueCats is a nonprofit, state-licensed, no-kill group dedicated to rescuing owner released and homeless kittens and cats. To prevent pet overpopulation, we have all kittens and cats spayed or neutered, and we provide a safe and loving shelter until stable, loving homes can be found. We work very hard to be a role model for other groups and educate the public about the necessity of spaying and neutering and proper care of animals. More than 7,000 animals have been saved by RescueCats.
