The “adoptable dog of the week” in metro Atlanta this week is Guera from Companion Animal Rescue League (CARL). Guera is a female adult pit bull terrier. Here is more information about Guera from the CARL Petfinder website:
“Guera is a very sweet little girl. She's only about 36 pounds and full-grown. She came into foster care as a VERY VERY scared little girl, and is still shy in new situations, but has made great progress. She's very lovable, happy, and playful. She will probably always be a little nervous, so a house with young children would probably not be the best place for her, but older children would probably be fine. She no longer does very well with other dogs, so would do best as an only dog. She has never been tested with cats.
Guera may have been hit by a car as a young puppy, and had a fractured elbow that was never treated by a vet. She has a bit of a limp when she's tired, and there is nothing that can be done for her at this point, but it doesn't slow her down at all! If you would like more information about Guera, contact Jennifer at augrad@att.net.”
Guera has been spayed and is up-to-date on her routine shots. Her adoption fee is $175.

About Companion Animal Rescue League (from the website)
“Companion Animal Rescue League (C.A.R.L.) is a not-for-profit, no-kill animal rescue group made up entirely of volunteers. CARL relies on volunteer foster homes to house and care for the pets in our program. We do not operate a shelter. All of our pets are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, tested for heartworms (dogs) or FIV/FeLV (cats), and microchipped prior to adoption.
Many of our adoptable dogs and cats can be seen at Adoption Days at the PetSmart in Johns Creek, Georgia on Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. and most Sundays from Noon to 4 p.m. The Johns Creek PetSmart store also has CARL cats vacationing in the Adoption Center during the week.”
