Adoptable cat of the week: Bailey from SNAP-2 IT

The “adoptable cat of the week” in metro Atlanta this week is Bailey from SNAP-2 IT. Here is more about Bailey from the SNAP-2 IT blog:

“Bailey is a special, loveable black and white boy between four and five months old whose uniquely colored face reminds us of a mime’s grease paint! It’s easy to fall in love with his quirky Marcel Marceau coloring; a broad white stripe starts on Bailey’s forehead and swoops down his nose, detouring around his black nose pad in the most cutely crooked way.

Bailey became part of the SNAP family when he, his siblings and his mother showed up at a Stone Mountain location where a SNAP volunteer regularly feeds a feral colony. After watching them, she realized that the little family was living in a nearby – and unsafe – storm drain. Our volunteer decided that Bailey and his siblings could be socialized and placed with loving families. She brought the kittens into her home, and made sure their mother was spayed, checked for health issues, and re-released to the feral colony.

Bailey has blossomed in his new indoor life with his foster mother. He recently visited the Buckhead PetSmart for an adoption event, and did very well despite all the noise and chaos! He has huge, expressive green eyes and classic tuxedo black and white good looks. His fur is medium length, and his white bib matches his sweet white feet. Bailey has a gentle temperament, reacted well to strangers, and enjoyed the attention he received.

Bailey is very curious, as you can tell from the pictures below…we took lots, but he was most interested in looking at his surroundings! His foster mother tells us that Bailey is the most outgoing of his siblings, and is a purr monster when he receives human attention. He loves to leap from cat tree to cat tree, and begs for love in the form of head rubs.

Bailey will flourish in a home with other animals for companionship, so we would like to see him join a family with another kitten – one of his siblings would be idea - or with a family that already has friendly pets. He loves to play and needs an active outlet for all his kitten energy, and will bond very closely with the humans who can provide him with that.”

About SNAP-2 IT (from the website)

“SNAP-2 IT (Spay Neuter Assistance Program) was born from a group of friends who were volunteering in no-kill shelters in metro Atlanta for many years and saw the urgent need for a preventative solution. Collectively, we witnessed multiple abuse cases and countless emails that circulate daily concerning animals who needed to be saved from euthanasia in local shelters. While we understand that no-kill shelters are needed, we also feel more attention needs to be focused on low cost spay/neuter options and to educate pet owners about spaying and neutering to prevent the problem from persisting.”
