Adopt your new best friend for less (Photos)

The weather is getting cooler and it's the perfect time to find a new snuggle buddy to share it with. Several shelters are running adoption specials during this time. The Humane Society of Indianapolis is building a new free roaming cat room to help the shelter cats stay in a more home-like environment. While they are doing that, some of the cats have had to move to another spot in the shelter during construction. To help minimize the stress on them and to make more room in the shelter, HSI has reduced cat adoption fees for this weekend only. From Friday October 12 through Sunday October 14, cats seven months and older will be available to adopt for only $9.99. You will have to go to the shelter to pick out your new friend then return the next day to finalize their adoption.

The Humane Society for Hamilton County is running an October Back in Black adoption special. Black or brindle dogs can be adopted for only $40 and black or orange cats can be adopted for $25. The animals will still receive their usual vetting including at least one round of vaccines, microchipping, altering and a free wellness exam. Some restrictions may apply.
