Cobb County Animal Control does a lot more than manage pests for the safety of our county. They are busy trying to find homes for loving pets to avoid euthanization as well as "educat[ing] the community in responsible pet ownership and wildlife care."
Spring means a lot of things - certainly puppies and kittens to adopt! - including the return of the popular Adopt-a-Thon, which is held at the shelter (1060 Al Bishop Drive in Marietta). This year's event will be May 19th from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Those who adopt at this year's event will enjoy special rates, so it is a great time to add a furry member to your family if you are ready! As always, adoptees are spayed/neutered and current on all vaccinations. Dogs and cats are tested for heartworms and other parasites at 6 months. You can preview some of the lovable animals who need homes on the CCAC Petfinder site.
Aside from adoptions, there will be many other fun things to do:
- Shop with local vendors
- Enjoy great food
- Watch a local Police K-9 demonstration - if you've never seen these dogs at work, you are missing out!
- Try your luck with raffles for some fabulous prizes (if you didn't win Mega Millions, this is the next best thing!)
- Meet the in-house Veterinarian
There will be lots of fun, and it's always great to see animals find a new and loving home! Come out and show your support!
