The other night, our local news aired a story and showed someone caught on a home surveillance camera driving down a side street in Las Vegas. The truck slowly came to a stop, passenger door opened, and out came a beautiful dog. The owner sped away leaving the dog in the middle of street confused and abandoned. The woman that owns the surveillance video rescued the dog and called authorites. Metro and Animal Control are now looking for that driver, and she is taking care of the dog until a home is found.

Unfortunately, this happens all over the country, and many times there is no happy ending for the pet.

Thankfully, organizations such as Happy Home Animal Sanctuary, a no-kill, non-profit orgainization, dedicates itself to saving and rescuing abandoned pets. Vaccinations, shelter, medical care, food, water - they provide everything for the lost and stray animals of Southern Nevada.

Adoptions from Happy Home Animal Sanctuary are available every Saturday and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., at PetSmart, 9869 South Eastern Avenue, Las Vegas, Nevada in the Target Shopping Center at Silverado Ranch.
