Adobe MAX 2010 Illustration highlights

At the Adobe MAX conference, the top Adobe experts, instructors and speakers from around the world provided hundreds of informative sessions and labs demonstrating the latest technologies. Many of these sessions and labs covered techniques in Illustrator, revealing tips and tricks to create extraordinary graphics.
 
Los Angeles based Adobe Expert, instructor and artist Chana Messer held the highly informative and especially interesting Illustrator lab "Expanding your Vision with Adobe Illustrator CS5." In this lab, the charismatic Chana demonstrated the workflow of a project from concept to completion. She instructed the audience on how to use the new perspective grid tool so as to create illustrations with 3D perspective. Furthermore, she covered the essential topics of artboards, symbols, advanced masking, new brushes, and the use of live trace on bitmap images.

Artist, designer and animator Greg Geisler, widely known for his incredible digital illustration work on the film A Scanner Darkly (2006), starring Keanu Reeves and Winona Ryder, held Illustrator labs and sessions demonstrating his unique techniques.
 
In his lab "Illustrator Creative Brushwork and Photoshop Art Technique," Greg instructed the participants regarding how to utilize the new bristle brush tool and pencil tool in Illustrator CS5 by drawing over a photograph with the Wacom Tablet. In addition, he explained how the new Photoshop Pixel Blender filter "Oil Paint" can be best used to adjust illustrations.
