In celebration of a magnificent year of Adobe Illustrator Los Angeles meetings, the user group is hosting a competition featuring original artwork. The artwork can be created with Adobe Ideas mobile app, with Adobe Illustrator, or with a combination of them both. The contest will conclude during the "Illustrator Ideas" holiday party on Wednesday, Dec. 18 from 6 pm to 9:30 pm at the Edendale Grill in Silverlake.
The contest encourages artists to get creative and to celebrate it together. While you are shopping for the holiday, preparing a new project, or just walking around town, you can let your creativity flow and upload your artwork.
Sally Cox, an Adobe Community Professional and Adobe user group manager in the San Francisco Bay Area, will choose the winners. The exciting prizes for finalists include a one-year membership to Adobe Creative Cloud, an Astute Graphics plugin for Illustrator, and a Creative Cloud messenger bag.
Chana Messer, manager of Adobe Illustrator LA user group, remarkable artist, and Adobe Certified Expert, further describes the event: "Last month I presented Adobe Ideas and Adobe Illustrator at an event in San Francisco. The participants entered a competition based on making art with Ideas and Illustrator, and I was the judge. The enthusiasm and the participation was amazing, and that gave me the idea of creating the same thing with our group. Andrew Kutchera and I are very excited about it - and hope to see lots of art."
Messer also enthusiastically exclaims: "2014 is going to be a blast. Adobe Illustrator is coming out with more updates in the future. We are going to feature them and bring great speakers. Astute Graphics is preparing great new tools for us! Hope to see you all!"
To enter the Illustrator Ideas contest, artists can upload their work onto Instagram (with hash tag #IllustratorLA #AdobeIdeas) or they can upload their work to the AILA Facebook page before Dec. 18. Complete contest details and tickets to the party are available on Eventbrite.
