The Admirals kicked off a three-game roadtrip in Texas with a 2-1 win over the Houston Aeros Sunday afternoon, snapping what has been a disappointing five-game winless streak. Goaltender Atte Engren made his 10th appearance of the season for the Ads, bringing his record to 4-5-0 with a .899 GAA. Across the ice and between the pipes for Houston was All-Star goalie Matt Hackett, who ranks 12th in the AHL for GAA with 2.42, boasts of record of 15-9-4 in 29 appearances this season.
Milwaukee scored both of their goals in the first eight minutes of the second period, seeing tallies from forwards Blake Geoffrion and Kyle Wilson. Both Wilson and Geoffrion scored goals in Friday nights 4-2 loss to Peoria, with Geoffrion's goal marking his first of the season.
Aeros forward Jeff Taffe scored the lone for the home team in the third period, and recieved 1st Star of the Game for his efforts.
With Sunday afternoons win, the Admirals sit in fourth place in the Midwest Division and tenth in the Western Conference. The team will play a pair of games against the Texas Stars Tuesday and Wednesday before returning to Milwaukee to face off against the first place Charlotte Checkers.
