Genesis 45:5,"But don't be upset, and don't be angry with yourselves for selling me to this place. It was God who sent me here ahead of you to preserve your lives."
This scripture is centered around Joseph seeing his brothers after all that has transpired. They are wrought with guilt and afraid for their lives, understanding very well the power that Joseph now possesses. Yet Joseph goes another route and explains that what they meant for loss, turned out to be victory. Joseph understood that God had a plan for his life and although the manner in which it played out may not have made sense, he trusted and knew that God would see him through for the greater purpose. And God did. Joseph became very powerful in Egypt and after interpreting a dream saw that a great famine was about to take place. He stored up supplies and was able to provide for his father and brothers when they were reunited.
We can glean much from this as well and apply it to our daily lives. We may be traveling a rocky road, filled with pot holes. It may seem like it's never ending and an endless black cloud just hangs over our head for days on end. But know that God has a plan for you. He will strengthen and equip you for the journey and soon enough, you will realize what he's been preparing you for all along.
