So here we are, launching my new devotional for the new year. For the past 2 years, I have posted to Twitter and Facebook, a daily scripture from my morning's reading of the bible. For 2014, I decided to expand on this a bit and include it here within my Examiner column and not only share the daily scripture but also go into what this scripture means to me personally; why it jumped out at me. So welcome and here goes!
As I read through the story of Joseph, this particular scripture hit me because it's such a beautiful reminder of Joesph's faith in God in all circumstances. Here was a man sold into slavery, accused of something he didn't do and thrown into prison and yet, he was never moved from believing that God would see him through it. How important this is for all of us to remember as we walk through our storms. In this scripture, Joseph is owning to the fact that he doesn't possess the power to interpret this dream but it goes deeper than that for me. He is saying for all of us that God is able to do all things and that if we simply acknowledge this and allow him to work, we would be astounded at the amazing results.
