“Guitars, vocals, bass and drums...That is rock and roll!”, is how Adelitas Way’s frontman, Rick DeJesus describes how this Las Vegas-based band went back to basics with their new album, Stuck. It’s refreshing to hear such simplicity and reality. It really shows how much this band has matured with their third album. This will be the album that defines their legacy.

At first listen, it’s very obvious that they did things much differently this time around as the clarity of each instrument is easily picked out and defined. Aiming for an organic feel, there were no auto-tuners of any kind used. The did things the old-fashioned way, they practiced and practiced some more playing each song over and over again for seven hours a day. The results are stunning!

“Dog on a Leash” gets the blood percolating with an in-your-face old school rock song. There are no tricks, gimmicks or bells and whistles; they come at you head on with the petal to the metal. They recently released this track as a single and it’s climbing the charts fast. Check it out on iTunes.

“Save the World” kicks things into overdrive. The guitars are so clean here, you could eat off them! That being said, it really gives the listener the chance to enjoy the passion in DeJesus’ voice. Speaking of passion, for those fans of “Alive” off Home School Valedictorian, you will absolutely fall in love with the power-ballad, “Undivided”. I can see this song being played at weddings for many years to come. It’s a song that will touch the heart of those who listen to it and will withstand the test of time.

“Drive” is a songwriter’s song. It’s lyrically poetic with an amazing arrangement to it. DeJesus’ dynamic vocal range is really showcased here. Given the chance, this song has all the capabilities of topping the rock charts.

It’s clear that this band has poured their heart and soul into Stuck; an investment that will pay huge dividends for them. This album will take them to the next level and mark their spot as a major rock band. The album is set for release on Virgin Records this summer so be on the look out for it. Meanwhile they are touring throughout North America, so check out their website for dates and cities.
