International singing sensation Adele is notoriously private, so most news reported about the young singer is accompanied with a question mark, simply due to the fact that so much of the "news" turns out to be be merely rumor and innuendo. But Us Weekly reported Wednesday, March 20, that the "Rumour Has It" singer intends to marry her boyfriend, Simon Konecki, later this year.
The magazine quoted an unnamed source as saying that the 24-year-old Adele was busy planning a secret wedding for the "summer or fall."
"She's been planning it for a while and is very involved," the source reported.
Adele and Konecki have been together for over a year. She gave birth to their child, a boy, in October.
She met Konecki, who is 38, when she got involved with his Drop4Drop charity, which promotes clean water wells in developing countries.
So how reliable is Us Weekly's source? It's difficult to tell just yet. But the mag does have details about her supposed dress designer and reports that Adele is managing the details of the wedding herself. So there's that.
Adele has been the source of various marriage rumors. In fact, rumors of a secret marriage between the "Someone Like You" singer and Konecki became so widespread in 2012 that she took to Twitter in August to dispel them.
She simply wrote: "I'm not married...Zzzzzzz"
But keep an eye on her Twitter account. She doesn't post often but dismissing a rumor is something she doesn't seem to mind doing. In February, after a photo was taken of her speaking with Chris Brown, the scuttlebutt (because nobody seemed to hear what they were saying to each other) was that she was scolding Brown for not standing and showing some sportsmanship when Frank Ocean won the Grammy for Best Urban Album, an award for which Brown was also nominated.
"Chris Brown and I were complimenting each other in that photo actually!" she wrote.
Adele won an Academy Award in March for Best Original Song for "Skyfall."
