Despite the shocking news of Whitney Houston's passing and the subsequent somber tone of the 54th annual Grammy Awards show this Sunday, Adele had plenty of reasons to celebrate -- six reasons to be exact.
Adele not only made her long awaited comeback performance, belting out "Rolling in the Deep" during the show, but she swept the Grammys, taking home six awards. Her wins include:
- Record of the Year -- "Rolling in the Deep"
- Album of the Year -- "21"
- Song of the Year -- "Rolling in the Deep"
- Best Pop Solo Performance -- "Someone Like You"
- Best Pop Vocal Album -- "21"
- Best Short Form Music Video -- "Rolling in the Deep"
According to the Recording Academy website, Adele tied Beyonce's record for most Grammy wins in a single night by female artist.
Adele's performance of "Rolling in the Deep" delighted fans around the globe as her voice sounded amazing. This was her first performance since she underwent vocal cord surgery late last year.
"I'm getting real emotional," Adele said. "I should thank my doctors, since they did bring my voice back."
