Adele and Paul Epworth win Oscar for Best Original Song for 'Skyfall'

The Academy Awards took place on Sunday, February 24 at the Dolby Theatre. In music, Adele and Paul Epworth won the Oscar for Best Original Song. This was the first nomination and win for both.

They beat out Mychael Dana for "Life of Pi", "Suddenly" from "Les Misérables", "Before My Time" from "Chasing Ice" and "Everybody Needs A Best Friend" from Ted.

Adele and Paul Epworth were both on hand to accepted their award. Adele was in tears as she thanked everyone associated with the record and ended with my man " I love you baby".

Epworth who co wrote the song with Adele, thanked Sam Mendes, EMI Records, everyone involved with the record and movie and lastly thanking Adele as the best person to work with.

The song "Skyfall" from the movie "Skyfall" also won the Critics Choice Awards and The Golden Globe Awards in January.

Also In music, Mychael Danna won the Oscar for Best Original Score for the movie "Life of Pi", directed by Ang Lee. This was his first time winning at the Academy Awards.

"Searching for Sugarman" won the Oscar for Best Documentary. Anne Hathaway won for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the movie "Les Miserables".
