Cincinnati fans will get the first look at the new Toledo Walleye team as they travel for their first pre-season game against their North Division rival Cincinnati Cyclones. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m. EST on October 9, 2009, at the U.S. Bank Arena.
The two teams will then head north for the second part of the home-and-home series with another game on October 10, 2009, at the Tam-O-Shanter Arena in Sylvania.
The Cyclones are the two-time defending North Division Champions and are coming off 41-26-5 season in which they reached the American Division finals in the Kelly Cup Playoffs.
The Walleye are looking to break into the league in their inaugural season in 2009-10. While Walleye Head Coach Nick Vitucci understands that with a new team, guaranteeing a championship this year would be "crazy," but he's confident that he will have an exciting and competitive team.
Cincinnati fans can call 513-421-PUCK, extension three, for tickets to the October 9 game at the U.S. Bank Arena. Tickets for the October 10 game in Sylvania are also on sale at 419-725-WALL and the Toledo Walleye official website.

Thanks for the update Angie - great to see more Walleye coverage. The Walleye are also playing in Dayton on October 8th at the Hara Arena.
Hi John,
Thanks for the kind words and the update on the Dayton game. It looks like I need to extend my road trip by another day. :)
