Are you concerned about children and mood disorders? Malnutrition is the problem. Twenty-percent of children will be diagnosed as having a mood disorder this year. Kids today are born so out of balance and out of energy, they don’t “feel right” and so they are gravitating to caffeinated substances like “Red Bull” and “Starbucks.” The kids are lining up for them.
Scientists and doctors used to say it’s not good to give drugs to a growing child and their metabolism
What good food source stabilizes “nerves” and “moodiness”? Kids need to be stabilized to make better decisions and to have a better point of view about their own life. The more stable the food is in the home, the more stable the child is and is less likely to get involved in “gateway” risky behaviors. Before WWII families all sat down together and ate regular home cooked meals. In today’s fast pace, families eat “on the go” and are eating sporadically and spend what little time they have eating food out of a bag that doesn’t even resemble food.
Preparing nutrient dense meals and taking time together at the dinner table
Addiction is the number one problem with moods and in adults because of the lifestyle. By the year 2020, depression, scientists say will be the leading cause of disability in the United States. Depression is one of the leading causes of addiction; people are trying to find what will make them “feel better” or lead them back to health. In the mean time they keep trying bigger and more powerful substances and become addicted to the small, non-lasting effects of some very dangerous drugs and chemicals they can buy on the street or by abusing prescription drugs. There are drugs everywhere; we are in the middle of a “bad storm.” There are all sorts of avenues to seek drugs and alcohol no matter what walk of life you come from.
The underlying cause is not being dealt with, brain starvation
Relapse is not a part of recovery. Addiction programs don’t have a very high rate of success because all of the underlying causes are not being dealt with. Eating 3-square meals of well-rounded meals would make all the difference in the world. Eating those 3 well rounded meals at regular times of the day would be the next required step. People are very physically ill, and they believed their whole life that they are derelicts or “dull” when in actuality they are deficient in many types of nutrients.
People deserve better than that, they deserve to feel alive and healthy
Everybody’s big dilemma, “Why am I so tired all of the time?” Eating right may require taking vitamin and mineral supplements for a time to get your body back up to par and to revive vitality and energy again. Regular healthy eating and exercise eventually will replace drinking coffee and the other stimulant addictions, they simply fall away, because the body is in control again and isn’t searching and eating everything in sight in order to get all of its daily needs met. The biochemistry of the body is out of whack, the metabolism is off course and the hormones and glands are working overtime and may even be depleted. You may have a very stressful life, you may be dying to be thin and on the treadmill 90 minutes a day and starving yourself, not eating right, not eating the right foods, and your body just can’t take it anymore. Of course its tired it may have been living like this for years or you may have been living like this your entire life.
What can you do to restore you energy and get your life back
You have to get outside again, you have to get over you cholesterol fear, your fat fear, you have to stop over exercising because it does nothing but exhaust your adrenals. You have to get on well-rounded meals again. The body naturally is supposed to be in a state of relaxing and digesting. How many people do you know who live a life like that these days? It doesn’t mean you live in a total slump, but it also means you have to stop running with the wind and slow things down from your breathtaking daily pace you live every day. It’s not empowering at all. You need to learn better adaptation skills.
People aren’t happier than they’ve ever been
In fact the opposite is true. There are studies that have been done that show people were happier during “The Great Depression” than they ever were at any other time in history. Modern convenience was supposed to make life easier, happier and make it so we didn’t have to work as hard in our daily lives. But as you can see, people are trying to adapt to all of the stress of having more time by filling it up doing things and overscheduling their time, and in the meantime, meal time and body mind and spirit health are literally suffering. That’s why there are so many movements to simplify and slow down the pace of life and concentrate on a good meal.
Good food is not “bad,” powerful advertising
Taking the time to do the healthy thing and respect our “needs” not “wants” and respecting what our body physically needs is truly having respect for you. Then along comes some powerful advertising to help destroy the “healthy” thing we were doing and filled everyone’s mind with “wants.” The “want” factor is so prevalent in today’s society and some people wonder if we will ever be able to get back to the way things were before “powerful” advertising came along and interrupted out life with emotional advertising. There really should be some type of basic limit as to what types of “mind games” and “subtle tricks” advertising is allowed to use when dealing with the human mind, especially coming in to your home through television and radio. You are bombarded by it every five minutes. You don’t let complete strangers have that kind of access to you normally. Certain advertising ploys should be made illegal because they are the kinds of things that were used during war times against the enemy and now they are being used on us.
Pre-depression ads versus post-depression ads
Before the depression and during it advertising was selling us good whole foods and interests, things that we actually needed. Post-depression ads all changed, it’s all about creating a “want” and making people think they needed things they didn’t have. It’s about telling people their life or they themselves are not what they could be without a certain product in their life.
You don’t have to change everything overnight, but over time you can make small positive changes towards a healthier lifestyle and feel better. You need to start taking the time before your health demands you come to a screeching halt because you end up in the emergency room.
With the new recommendations of 7-10% fat USDA the animal fats reduction in the daily allowance, we are going to see more mood disorders in the population, with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s, ADHD and Autism and so forth. The brain is starving and can’t take it anymore. This “fight to be thin” and the so called “obesity epidemic” is going to cause another kind of epidemic much to the demise of our children who need healthy fats to grow healthy bodies and brains.
