Their Stewardship Travel program has a dual-purpose. You can add
adventures to your trip while helping the environment.

While enjoying the sun, sea and wines in central California there is much more. This could be a “feeling good” vacation.

It is more than just a vacation; you will experience the “real” California.The Stewardship Travel program wants tourists to enjoy more experiences with their vacations. Most tourists are not aware this is possible.

There are different ways to join the Stewardship program. Just choose one or more of 10 destinations that interest you then find out what Stewardship program opportunities are available.

Tourists should plan their trip in wine country, Highway 1 and the Discovery Route. This is the historic route along California’s coast with unbelievable scenery.

If this sounds interesting, look at the website for a list of over 70 possibilities to suit all tastes. Some of the categories are nature, history, wine tasting, romantic getaways, science, restoration and clean-up.

What could be more romantic than a dinner for two on the Dunes with Pacific Wildlife Care? After a guided kayak tour of Morro Bay, then relax at a beach-style dinner served on the sand dunes.

Around 50,000 black and gold Monarch Butterflies can be seen around Eucalyptus grove at Pismo State Beach during their migration each year.

Mixing history with wine, take the self-guided wine tasting tour of the Old Edna Town built in the 1800’s.

Visit the Casitas Estate farm-to-fork Farmers Market for their lunch tour. Central California’s restaurants are committed to healthy meals. Most restaurants select their fruit, vegetables, meat, pork, and fowl from local farms.

Take a step back in time at the Oceano train depot, the San Simeon lighthouse or other historic sites. California has preserved many historic sites built as early as the 1800’s and 1900’s each with a story to tell.

You can do take part in two ways to help the environment. See the beautiful Estero Bluffs north of Cayucos while cleaning-up the beach. There are several Stewardship clean-up and restoration stops scheduled along the coast.

Each experience is unique and can be added to the traveler’s itinerary. California’s Stewardship travel wine coast country eco-tours are the first and one of the few available in the United States.

These make-a-difference eco-tours show tourists a different side of California’s wine country. The time allowed for these tours is up to each person. Whether you spend a few hours or more, the experience is memorable.

Taking part in these eco-tours awakens visitors to a behind-the-scenes view of central California’s wine country.
