With a weekend and possibly week-long weather forecast for mostly cloudy, with rain and/or snow showers and temperatures in the 30s, couldn’t you use some spring right about now? This weekend all four Hudson Valley Adams Fairacre Farm locations are hosting their Annual Lawn and Garden Show.
According to their website, "Each year in late February through mid-March the Adams Landscaping crews design and install an amazing backdrop of patios, ponds and walkways for hundreds of flowering spring bulbs, annuals, trees and shrubs in our greenhouses. Vendors, knowledgeable staff and garden experts from throughout the region are there to answer all your questions. The Garden Show is free to attend and also includes seminars, giveaways and free raffles."
In addition, one or two days of the show at each location is a local food show. That's when you can tour the Spring gardens and meet the people who produce the local foods Adams’ features everyday on their shelves. Cheeses, biscotti and other wonderful delicacies will be available to taste and buy, along with special offers and tips on how to use them in your favorite recipes.
In Newburgh, the Food Show is March 2. In Poughkeepsie it is March 2 and 3. In Kingston it is March 9, and in Wappinger it is March 10. At each location it runs from 11 a.m.- 4 p.m. So, come for the infusion of spring and stay for the tummy-pleasing food.
Hudson Valley Adams Fairacre Farm locations in Poughkeepsie and Newburgh have their Lawn and Garden show from February 22 to March 3. Kingston and Wappinger have theirs from March 1 to March 10. That is plenty of time to catch an early peek at spring in bloom at all four locations. While you’re getting professional design tips and seeing the latest varieties of all your favorite flowers, remember to pick up some of the freshest meat and produce available anywhere in the Hudson Valley at your neighborhood Adams Fairacre Farms.
