Donald Sterling is expected to receive some type of punishment for racist comments attributed to the Los Angeles Clippers' owner during a taped conversation with his estranged girlfriend, V. Stiviano. A press conference has been scheduled for April 29 with NBA commission Adam Silver in New York City.

Silver already promised via a previous press conference on Saturday – hours after TMZ.com made the first audio tape of Sterling public – that he would move “extraordinarily quickly” to come to a decisive answer regarding the controversial matter that has seen everyone from President Barack Obama to prominent NBA players weigh in.
The question that remains is in regards to how severe of a punishment will in fact fall on Sterling after the press conference airs.
While boycott buzz is in the air for Game 5 of the Clippers on Tuesday, experts note that a mere fine would only represent a slap on the wrist for Sterling, whom Forbes estimates is worth a whopping $1.9 billion. A $1 million minimum fine would be a drop in the bucket for this billionaire, whom experts say is attempting to keep the ownership of the team within the Sterling family – as other pundits claim that Earvin “Magic” Johnson is still positioning himself to become an NBA team owner, even if the NBA legend denies claims that he’s buying the Clippers.
At minimum, an indefinite suspension for the team owner is expected, which could ban Sterling from his office and prevent him from attending NBA games as well as negotiating deals or from speaking to the press. Some say that this might be among the best retribution for the man who previously enjoyed the limelight and false bravado that a young mistress brought him.
