If you are male and breathing, you are evidently the prime candidate to be an extra in Adam Sandler’s upcoming movie, “Blended” (set for release in 2014). The actor’s people announced Thursday that the production is seeking extras for a scene that will be shot at a Hooters restaurant in Lawrenceville, GA. Drew Barrymore joins the former SNL comedian as his leading lady in this new romantic comedy that finds two blind daters trapped together at a families’ resort. This is actually the third rom-com in which the two have starred – the first being 1998 smash “The Wedding Singer.” Sandler and Barrymore paired up again in 2004 with “50 First Dates.”

Filming for “Blended” began around July 15 in the Lake Lanier area. Yesterday, an announcement for extras was placed on social media sites such as Meetup.com and Facebook. For the Hooters scene, casting staff are seeking men between the ages of 21 and 60, of no particular type – who are willing to put in a full day for around $8 per hour (with overtime pay if needed). Blue collars, frat guys and businessmen (amongst any others) will apparently fill the production’s need.

“Blended” is merely one of many movies to nestle into the metro area for production. Parts of upcoming flicks “Endless Love”, “Kill the Messenger” and “Hunger Games: Catching Fire” were all filmed in or around Atlanta. Shooting for Sandler’s new comedy will reportedly end in mid-August.
