Volunteers have pulled the ticks off of Adam while the dog sat perfectly still. How is he supposed to find a "pawsome" home hidden away from the general public?

The Jason Debus Heigl Foundation was founded by actress Katherine Heigl and her mother, Nancy to promote animal welfare. The nonprofit organization celebrates the memory of a brother and a beloved son through the rescue, rehabilitation and adoption of so many animals - great and small.

There's nothing wrong with the happy-go-lucky young gray and white pooch who wags his tail in pure happiness whenever anyone makes eye contact with him in isolated Kennel #24 in a remote area of the San Bernardino City Animal Shelter. His weight is good, his eyes are bright, and he acts just like a dog who would just love to go home with a new family.

So why is Adam (A469938) being kept in isolation? After all, his PetHarbor listing says he's available for general adoption. Unfortunately, Adam entered the shelter on July 28 after being found as a stray, and he was full of ticks; that's all that was wrong with him, yet what are his chances when so few visitors even get the opportunity to see Adam?

A volunteer who has met this dog says the following:

"He's so friendly! Trying to get my under the kennel door. A small dog just got loose in front of his kennel, and to me it seemed that all he wanted was to play. His tail was wagging a million miles a minute."

The person who videoed Adam in his isolation kennel had this to report:

"This boy is super friendly. He is just a happy boy and was put in isolation for his poor condition. He's not in poor condition. He is healthy. He's just full of ticks that needed to be removed."
