“The Voice” star and lead singer of the popular band Maroon 5, Adam Levine, married Victoria’s Secret model Behati Prinsloo on Saturday. E! News reported Sunday that the wedding took place at Flora Farms in Los Cabos, Mexico. They reportedly had around 300 guests present for the event. Jonah Hill, an actor and longtime friend of Levine, was present and officiated the wedding. Prinsloo’s father also stood up and said a blessing for the couple.
The happy couple reportedly walked down the aisle while one of the Maroon 5 guitarists played. Levine and Prinsloo read vows that each had written themselves. The bride was dressed in a beautiful Marchesa gown. The gown was said to be lace with spaghetti straps and a long veil. In lieu of gifts the couple reportedly asked guests to donate to a charity.
Levine and his new bride met in June 2012 and then in July 2013 he asked her to be his wife. People reported earlier this month that Levine was ready for the big day. He told them that it all felt natural. Levine said, "I definitely feel like I'm sitting in the chair I'm supposed to be sitting in right now.” Just yesterday Levine took to his Facebook, hours before his wedding, and posted, “Let’s do this.”
According to E! News the reception was fun for guests and lasted well into the night. There was an amazing selection of food and reportedly a wide assortment of drinks, including mojitos, for their friends and family to enjoy. The happy bride even sang a song to her husband. The newlyweds will be heading to South Africa for their honeymoon.
Levine is currently starring in “The Voice.” The show is a singing competition and Levine is one of the coaches, along with Shakira, Usher and Blake Shelton. “The Voice” is about to kick off season 7 on September 22. It can be seen on Monday and Tuesday nights on NBC.
