Adam Levine does a mean Shakira impersonation and now that ability is trending on March 2. The proof occurred during the blind auditions for season 6 of NBC's "The Voice" when the Maroon 5 frontman got snarky as seen on this video.
According to People on Sunday, during the performances coming from the singing competition's early entries, Shakira literally pledged that she would cause Delvin Choice to win the TV talent show.
The crooner from Colombia said to the Starbucks barista from South Carolina, "I, Shakira Mebarak, born in Barranquilla, Colombia, solemnly swear that I am going to take you to the top in this competition."
Levine, who was vying for Devin Choice to join Team Adam, took on the persona of Shakira to impersonate her and win over this coffee server in the process.
Adam said in what turned out to be a perfect Shakira impression, "I promise you. I'm Adam Noah Levine from Los Angeles, California. I'm going to take you to the top. I solemnly swear. No problem. You come to my team, okay?"
Then Usher chimed in and said he wanted the guy who sang "A Song for You" to join his team but that plea was just too little too late.
Apparently, Adam Levine beat Shakira and he beat Usher, too.
Delvin Choice explained his decision, saying, "When Adam turned around, I saw the intensity in his eyes. He really had a desire to want to get to know me more as an artist."
That would make this Team Adam 1, Team Shakira 0, Team Usher 0.
