Adam Levine on SNL: Rocker parodies 'Catfish' star Nev Schulman (Video)

The Adam Levine SNL impersonation of Catfish co-creator Nev Schulman this past weekend was spot-on perfection. We'd end the article here, because it really is that simple, but our editors frown on one-sentence articles. (Go figure!)

If you're unfamiliar with Catfish: The TV Show (or the Catfish movie, for that matter, where Nev himself was the "original" Catfish), we'll give you a little back-story. Basically, Nev Schulman is a charming, affable guy hellbent on helping people find truth in web full of lies. An Interweb full of lies, to be specific.

Nev hooks people up with their longtime Internet crushes with no holds barred veracity. As can be imagined, this often leads to heartbreaking or at least wildly surprising results, which he and his brother Max Schulman naturally film for MTV. What began as a documentary film about Nev's experience has turned into a popular MTV series, with its popularity spurred on even further by the recent Manti Te'o hoax girlfriend debacle.

Though he is both handsome and awkwardly relatable, or maybe because of these qualities, Nev's now well-known quirks and mannerisms leave him open to impersonations such as the one Adam Levine gave on Saturday Night Live on Jan. 26. You can check out video of the skit here now.

The Adam Levine SNL skit specifically mentioned Nev's almost ridiculously good looks and gently probing demeanor when the Maroon 5 singer (as Nev) toyed with viewers, "As always, I just woke up and the cameras caught me disheveled and cute! Are you getting all this, Max?" The skit then progressed into the SNL writing staff's version of typical Catfish scenes, which were pretty accurate in their formula.

Luckily, Nev Schulman took Adam's playful but dead-on impression as the flattery we're sure it was intended and tweeted the Maroon 5 singer following the SNL skit. "Hey @adamlevine...nice job, but you were a little light on the chest hair tonight. @SNL #catfish."
