Adam Levine gets married like a rock star

Forget partying like a rock star—Adam Levine knows how to get married like one. The Maroon 5 front man and “Voice” coach tied the knot with 25-year-old model Behati Prinsloo over the weekend, and on Tuesday People magazine provided an inside look at all of the details.

According to the celebrity gossip magazine, wedding planners came up with an elegant tropical theme for the rockin’ reception that was held at Flora Farms in Los Cabos, Mexico. Guests dined at tables under mango trees that were strewn with garlands of real flowers and tiny white lights, and the menu included organic pork chops, fresh tuna and beet salads, jalapeño, cucumber and carrot mojitos, Mexican popsicles, and other organic ice cream treats.

Of course, there wasn’t a typical wedding band at this high profile reception. Instead, rock legend Stevie Nicks, ska punk rockers Sublime and Levine’s band all performed at the celebration. (Levine and Nicks even sang a duet!)

E! News reported that there were 275 guests at the ceremony, including Robert Downey Jr. and model Coco Rocha. The groom's longtime friend Jonah Hill officiated the ceremony, while a bevy of Victoria’s Secret models served as bridesmaids.

Levine’s nuptials have been a long time in the making. The 35-year old rocker has always been vocal – and conflicted -- about his thoughts on marriage, and once said the perfect way to lower the divorce rate would be to never get married in the first place. In 2011 he told Elle there were many things that were keeping him from getting married, and blamed much of his hesitation on his “very all-over-the-place lifestyle. “

But the rock star later confirmed to Oprah Winfrey that he was actually a fan of marriage. “I think a lot of people put pressure on themselves to get married and I think that when it's time, it's going to be obvious, and I'm going to do it, and I'm going to really enjoy it,” he said last year during an “Oprah’s Next Chapter” interview. Levine also said he loved kids and loved the idea of having a wife.

The newlyweds will reportedly travel to South Africa for their honeymoon.
