Adam Lambert trashed "Les Miserables" after he watched the movie over the weekend, Us Weekly reports Dec. 31. The Grammy-nominated singer and "American Idol" runner-up from season 8 expressed his true feelings about the film via Twitter.
Lambert tweeted:
"'Les Mis':Visually impressive with great Emotional performances. But the score suffered massively with great actors PRETENDING to be singers. It's an opera. Hollywood's movie musicals treat the singing as the last priority."
One thing the musician praised was Anne Hathaway's performance -- on a "pass" level. He just couldn't get over the singing parts, however.
The singer added:
"I do think it was cool they were singing live, but with that cast, they should have studio recorded and sweetened the vocals. . . The singing was so distracting at times it pulled me out."
The industry will say 'these actors were so brave to attempt singing this score live,' but why not cast actors who could actually sound good? Sorry for being so harsh but it's so true!"
What do you think of Adam Lambert's take on "Les Miserables"? Did you like the singing in the film?
