While Adam Lambert was in France earlier this month, he had an opportunity to record a new radio interview that aired for the first time on Friday. In it, the former "American Idol" star touched on a number of topics -- some of them familiar and some of them somewhat new.
For those of you keeping track on the status of his second album, Adam claims that he is waiting until he is back in the States before doing anything on a follow-up release, simply so that he does not end up rushing any part of the music. The new album should come out in the second or third quarter of next year, and feature a sound that leans more to the pop elements on "For Your Entertainment."
As for a Grammy, Adam also said he'd love to grab one with the next album -- this is really an interesting statement in many ways, since unless Adam knows something we do not the nominees for this year's Grammys are not even announced yet. Adam is certainly eligible for a nomination, but this is also a crowded year in music thus far and he could be looking to temper expectations.
Check out the full interview over at this link -- do you think Adam should be recognized with a nomination, in particular after a couple of the shocking snubs this year?

Matt, what did you mean "crowded year" Adam deserved to be nominated for 2 Grammy's as minimum. He is #1 in this crowd. May be you just want us to be prepare for Wednsday and to not this Grammy's nom annonsment?
Anyway, thank again for nice words about Adam.
Well, I think Artists know if they are seriously being considered for Grammys. I think Adam realizes he won't be nominated and is just looking toward the future.
I would be shocked if the Grammys did nominate him. Haven't we all learned by now that the music industry is all about rewarding bland autotuned claptrap instead of actual vocal performance ability?
I'm hping since it is industry professionals that nominate and vote, that his awesome talent will be recognized. There is NO ONE like him.
Haven't we all learned by now that the music industry does not give awrds to gay male singers? Lesbian action is fine but heaven forbid we give a nod to a gay man! I just accept it and love Adam anyways!

Of course adam should be recognized with a nom. He knows it, we know it, and anyone with an ear for vocal talent knows it. Unfortunately the music industry lately has become tone-deaf and auto-tune-dependent, so vocal ability doesn't count for much anymore.
IMO he deserves a nom for his talent - and there are many in the music industry who acknowldege that talent. However, I get the impression that because he came from AI, that some feel he hasn't yet 'paid his dues', no matter what he did prior to the show, and no matter that he is popular world wide. I think a lot of awards shows come down to money - who can make a label the most money with the words 'grammy nominated' or 'grammy winner' in front of their names? Adam's label may support him in ways that we know nothing about, but seem reluctant to acknowledge what they actually have in Adam Lambert in public.
I would love to see a nomination for him, but sadly, I don't think it is going to happen this year. I truly believe it will happen for him some day because they hold back an amazing talent like that for too long.
I think ADAM is drawing on the past 'award' shows that have 'snubbed' him 'n is probably setting himself up to deal with YET ANOTHER SNUB which to me is a travesty. ADAM doesn't deserve all this NEGATIVITY toward him for whatever reason. ADAM is a TALENTED young artist with a GLOrious Voice surpassed by no one else in today's music industry .. IMO ... and should be given the same consideration of at least a NOMINATION!! ADAM isn't like some of the other lesser talented 'n autotuned artists of today. He can SING 'n ENTERTAIN ... acoustically there is NO comparison to ANY other artist in the music field. Is everyone tone deaf? I don't expect a nom for ADAM either ... sad to say.
I feel after the lack of industry recognition by the awards shows this season , Adam is keeping his expectations so low as far as a nomination goes that he is resigned to being "overlooked". I hope I am not putting out mis-information as I don't have the time to research everyone elses assertions behind the snubbing of Adam BUT my understanding is that the previous awards shows are owned by Dick Clark Productions & Disney. Since they own them their agenda isn't talent its how can we market artists we have a vested interest in? The Grammys are supposed to be industry ppl w/o a vested interest in the artists choosing whom they like as artists. So , I am holding out a small hope that this may be the one awards show that will come thru for at least a nomination & even lovlier a chance to perform on stage to squelch the ppl who want to punish Adam forever for his AMA performance. Whatever happens, Adams loyal fanbase will continue to appreciate not only his entertaimnent value but hs even more impressive value as a humane being. Love me some Adam!!
I am SOOOO disgusted with an Industry who gives Awards to a NON-Singer like that Bieber kid!
Adam Lambert's talent far eclipses ANYONE else out there now! This needs to be straightened out, along with a bunch of haughty, STUPID Disney/ABC execs!
Of course Adam SHOULD be (at least) nominated for a Grammy, but realisticly, it probably won't happen this year - and he's right to be prepared for it.
All of the other awards shows were almost understandable - Adam was on tour - even if he HAD been nominated he wouldn't have been able to attend - and no award show likes no-shows. They'd rather be the one DOING the snubbing.
Also, all those other singers ARE selling more records in a shorter time, ARE ranking higher on the various sales charts and ARE getting more spins on the radio. We who love Adam can't understand why Adam hasn't been able to break through in those areas, but the fact remains that he hasn't. We know there are millions worldwide who LOVE Adam, all those sold out, and near sold out, shows on his successful tour prove it to us. But when you think about it - with all those small venues - under 200,000 tickets have been sold, and many of those people saw the show multiple times.
We all know Adam is a phenomenal multi-talented entertainer, and much more talented than those being nominated - and winning - the award shows. If he keeps going he'll have to win eventually, even if it's 30 years down the road and all they can do is give him a Life-Time Achievement Award.
I am OHHHH SOOOO HAPPY to have been wrong!! Congratulations Adam for being nominated as Best Pop Vocalist (for WWFM). We are all so happy that by a nomination your great talent is finally being recognized by the industry. This is just the beginning. Here's to a long future of your wonderful music.
