Adam Lambert talked about Paula Abdul's recent, Twitter announced exit from American Idol, and what he thinks about announced guest judges Katy Perry and Victoria Beckham.

In comments to Rolling Stone, Adam Lambert said, “She obviously is going to miss interacting with all the Idol contestants, she really loves that process of discovering new talent,” adding, “I think she brings so much heart to the show. She’s so supportive, she knows what it’s like to be a performer and she really provides a sense of safety for the auditioners in the room. I have no doubt her future endeavors will bring her success and happiness. She’s got a lot that she’s capable of.”

The American Idol runner up, up for two Teen Choice Awards on Monday, August 10th, also said Paula Abdul will be missed by audience and contestants, and commented, “She made me feel safe and loved. It’s hard when you’re facing intense criticism from some of the more harsh judges on the show and you have millions of people behind the camera watching you, it’s nice to have a presence in the room that will root for you and smile. And not only after the performances, but during the performance, she stands up, she claps, she smiles at you — it’s like a safety net.”

Apparently, Paula Abdul's relationship to Adam Lambert's season 8 of American Idol was close. So much so, that she once helped them rehearse for disco night in a parking lot. About that, Lambert said, “That was wild,” adding, “Paula came to the recording studio and rehearsed with us with a car stereo. To me that was the most surreal moment of the entire season — I was like, I can’t believe I am dancing in a parking lot with Paula Abdul!”

As has been reported, Katy Perry and Victoria Beckham have been announced as guest judges for next year's season. And Adam Lambert thinks that's a good thing. He said, “Fun! I think Katy Perry is a genius, she’s a sweetheart, a great performer. I haven’t met Posh [Beckham], but she’s fierce.” Finally, the pop star also shared his opinion on having four judges instead of three in American Idol, saying “I think it worked really well,” and, “I think it was a nice balance this year.”

One thing would certainly make next year's American Idol special, and that would be a performance by Adam Lambert, maybe even with Paula Abdul?

You are right, a performance by Adam Lambert next season would be greatly appreciated by me.

Yes to Adam performing, no to Adam and Paula performing. Do love Paula, but not onstage with a talent like Adam. I don't care that she's been doing it for longer.

It would be great if Adam could be a quest performer and judge. He is the only reason I watched last season. This season will seem disappointing without him.

Yes, I would love to see Adam perform on AI without Paula. It would be the only night I would watch. They made a mistake getting rid of Paula and they need to fix the voting system! Adam is the best thing AI ever did!!The only thing left I like about the show is Simon.

I've been watching AI religiously since Season 2 and I've had some favorite Idols over the years, but now that I've found my 'forever Idol' in Adam Lambert I just can't imagine how it's going to be watching Idol next year and the loss of Paula makes it seem even sadder. I truly hope that Adam can come on the show as a guest performer and sing his #1 hit from his album. Just can't wait to hear his new stuff!!!!!

Would love to see Adam as a guest on Idol, either as a performer or a judge. Especially as a performer. Can't see him and Paula together though. Adam is a sweetheart and is always so gracious toward others. It is a sad thing about Paula. Not sure I will watch this year though, after Adam, I am kind of done.

I will only watch AI, when Adam is the idol guest.

Being a loyal fan of ADAM, it makes me sad that Paula is not with AI anymore. It was she who championed ADAM from day one and not Kara as the press release of FOX pointed out. I know it will be sad for ADAM as well when he performs back on that stage again and no Paula to stand and dance to his number. That really saddens me.

I will watch AI next year when Adam performing as a guest performer. I may also watch the show when I don't have nothing else to watch, but definitely not vote anymore. Paula is a sweetheart and is always so nice to the contestants. It's sad to see her go.

I WONT WATCH AI THIS TIME ESPECIALLY WITH OUT PAULA.
HOPE ADAM WILL SIGN S THIER AI GUESS. THEN I WILL WATCH BEC. OF ADAM LAMBERT.

Without Paula and after Adam American Idol will never ever be the same!!!Paula is the positive-energy-source for the contestans and she will be missed VERY much!I hope she reconsiders her desicion!
Adam raised the level sooo unreachable , I cant imagine any future contestant to challenge this enormous talent and full package what Adam delivered in his show-performances.
A.I. will have a hard time to catch the audience after these two extraordinary persons.

AI will still be a top rated show but without Adam, it will never be the same. Next year will be a whole lot of Adam wannabes but there will only ever be one Adam. You can bet that if he comes back as a guest, it will be the highest ratings they will ever have and I will watch that one show but that will be it for me, Adam has it all.
