An interview with Adam Lambert has just been published in a Japanese magazine in which he revealed new information about his upcoming sophomore album. A couple of weeks ago Yuko Kato from Japanese magazine In Rock conducted an interview with Adam via telephone and it has just been published in their current issue. Since the article is written in Japanese, many US fans are unable to read it. However, it has been translated by some of Adam’s Japanese fans, who shared that Adam gave several details about his upcoming album.
Adam disclosed tha this next album will be more personal than For Your Entertainment. He also said that it will be more realistic and “closer to the earth” than his debut album, which was kind of "in the universe." According to Adam, For Your Entertainment was his homage to glam-rock in the 70s and 80s. But he says the second album will be more current, rather than retro as was his ‘glam” debut album. Additionally, he says that he has been feeling pressure of the jinx of a second album. That is, an artist fears that when the first album became a big hit, the second album could fail.
It sounds like there has been a lot of progress made on the album already. Adam said that he has already recorded about 25 songs and the album will probably be completed sometime around October. He hopes that all the tracks selected will be songs that he has written.
Adam also shared details about the upcoming album back in May during a twitter party. His fans are excited to get these tidbits when they can, as they are trying to be patient in waiting for the release, which is still a few months away.
Even those that cannot read Japanese may want to add the magazine to their collection of Adam Lambert paraphernalia. If that describes you, this issue of In Rock magazine can be purchased at several online retailers, including HMV, Amazon Japan, and directly from In Rock.
How excited are you for Adam’s next album to be released? What are you listening to in the meantime while you wait for his new music?
