Adam Lambert, Lady Gaga, and Miley Cyrus among most-searched stars

When you look at the list of 2010's most-searched celebrities, you will quickly realize something -- a good many of them are famous from the music world. Why is this? It may simply be because artists actually put themselves out there and allow you to feel some sort of personal attachment or vulnerability -- meanwhile, actors tend to spend most of their time in front of you playing a character.

With that in mind, let's look at the full list of the stars with the most Google hits to their names:

1. Michael Jackson, Lady Gaga – 151 million searches
2. Beyonce, Miley Cyrus – 68 million
3. Taylor Swift – 45 million
4. Britney Spears – 37 million
5. Madonna, Chris Brown – 30 million
6. Kanye West – 20 million
7. Adam Lambert, Angelina Jolie, Paris Hilton – 11 million
8. Kelly Clarkson, Lindsay Lohan – 9 million
9. Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Alba – 6 million
10. Brad Pitt – 5 million

Seeing new names on this list such as Adam (and even relatively new ones like Gaga) is refreshing since both of them are still neophytes to major celebrity when you compare them to a Madonna or a Britney Spears.

As for a few other surprises, here are some notes:

  • Why are people still searching for Chris Brown so often?
  • Seeing Kelly Clarkson on here as highly as Lindsay Lohan was a surprise considering what Lindsay has been going through this year.
  • One of the biggest surprises is simply who is not on this list -- Justin Bieber, who has dominated both YouTube and Twitter this year.

I have a real-time Google Alert set for Adam (which is how I found this article). I get an average of 20 per day but sometimes more if Adam has something going on that all the online publications have picked up. I get a lot of duplicates and also a few pieces of crap and dumb spoof satire articles but when it comes to Adam I'd rather get too much information than to miss out on something. He's an extremely interesting person but as a die-hard fan I like to make sure I know everything that is going on with him and I also like to read what people are writing about him in both the articles AND the comments. Adam's fans love him deeply and are always searching and reading and do not hesitate to defend Adam's honor when some snarky two-bit writer publishes a piece full of obviously homophobic/bigoted remarks. We have forced many a writer to publish apologies.

I Google ADAM several times a day to catch up on any updates. I ignore the stupid spoof articles and stay away from the nasty blogs like VFTW completely. I read and respond to most legitimate articles especially if the info is WRONG or SNARKY. After all ... isn't that what a GOOD fan is supposed to do?

I google Adam every day. I am an older woman and my husband gets jealous! I think it's awesome since he is 65. My grown son thinks it's fine and actually helps me - get Adam ringtones, etc, things I don't know how to do. Who would of thought this 2 years ago.
