This year's American Idol stars Adam Lambert and Kris Allen will join last year's winner David Cook at the Central Park stage of Good Morning America.
According to a poll by this column, there are many out there who think Adam Lambert should have won American Idol instead of Kris Allen this year. But America voted, and in any case both performers will be available for fans, along with the very popular, Teen Choice Awards 2009 nominee David Cook.
Central Park opens to the public at 6am, so if you are in the mood for a free Idol performance and happen to be in New York City you might want to get there late. All other fans will get to see the performance live on television.
Good Morning America starts at 7am, and the concerts usually start at 8.30am. The Adam Lambert, Kris Allen and David Cook live performance airs on Friday, August 7th, on ABC.

Uh... of course Adam would lead your poll. It is placed in an article about Adam, and therefore sure to draw his fanbase.

Both American Idol and Kris are handling this wisely, imo. There will be a lot less negativity about the outcome and a lot more fanbase for both Kris and AI if they bring Adam along. (Fortunately for them, it's good for Adam, too.)
Personnally I think the winners should have first billing, but that's my opinion.
I saw somewhere that Adam is going to be on The View on Thur. Aug 6 also. Does anyone else know if that's right? I hope so - the women of The View will eat him UP!
I see your point, Sammie, but AI isn't the only ones who decide who gets top billing. The shows they book to decide as well.
Good Morning America is looking to hold viewers from 7:00-9:00, not looking to hurt themselves in order to give seasonal AI title-holders top billing.
The reality is Adam Lambert is currently the most popular of the 2009 Idol Tour, possibly more popular than the show, AI, itself.
He's the hot ticket to be booked right now- with or without AI.
They need to bring Adam because he has the most talent. The other 2 guys are good, but Adam is in a league of his own. I bought a CD Walmart has out and I keep listening to Adam over and over again

not just this poll but on every article that is about the Idol tour in general, not just about Adam,all polls say this, which really makes me wonder how Kris won,but it 's done and I am just glad Adam will be performing, this says something about his popularity, Idol knows it has a superstar and that Adam is the main draw on the tour.
I have the same questioning as you Mia. I don't know how Kris won when the reception is so much more for adam everywhere we look. Like any other glambert, I was soo mad at first when he didnt win, but now, after seeing his performances on youtube, I know the right person won, and I think glamberts/lambskanks, really need to start seeing that. I mean, if Adam did have the title behind his name, he'd be in a freakin box. His performances would not be what they are beause he would be contained BECAUSE of having to uphold the american idol 'image'. If adam did choose to go against what this image should be, had he won, there is a great chance he'd be getting unfair negativity for it. Being runner-up, he can be as sexual,sensual, and flamboyant on and off stage as he wants and we can all love him for it AND love that most everyone else loves it rather than seeing articles about how adam lambert isn't the american 'idol' after all.--then adam fans would have to do even more damage control
I like David cook, I like Kris Allen and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Adam. He has one of the best voices and stage presence I have ever wittnessed. He always hold back when performing with others because he is generous and giving, but on his own - he rocks our world!! I realized from the first that it was totally to Adam's benefit not to be the "Idol" winner. He is a much more free agent as he is and he is so spectacular to behold!!

adam didn't win because he is too screechy and too theatrical. you need to have both female & male fans to win American Idol, he doesn't have male fans. only old ladies & fat women like him, guys don't!
Who knows why Adam didn't win. It is totally to his advantage though because he isn't boxed by the title. Adam is a brilliant and charismatic talent and he will be a super star regardless!! Adam is gorgeous and sexy on top of being truly talented - he will keep shinning for a long time.
I know a lot of men that are coming around by the way. My husband for one. I think when Adam's CD comes out in the fall - he will gather even more fans of all ages, and genders.

I voted for Kris every week on American Idol. I don't vote in online polls because they're basically pointless. The point of voting on AI is to help your favorite win. The point of voting in an online poll is what, exactly? Kris won, I'm happy, so who needs polls?
I don't think the screaming at concerts proves much. I remember when they screamed for David Cassidy and tore off his clothes. Leif Garrett. Menudo. All "brilliant artists," right? All still really huge today, right? NOT.
kris' name should come first before adam's in your article. kris is the winner.
LOL surely anyone who have taken Statistics 101 should know that all poll results out there are completely screwed with those bitter fans of the loser spamming them. Having said that, I think your title should have Kris Allen and David Cook's names for first before the loser and your intro should be worded this way "This year's American Idol's winner Kris Allen and runner up Adam Lambert will join last year's winner David Cook at the Central Park stage of Good Morning America." Btw, does Dvaid Cook and Kris Allen perform first? If so, I can switch off the TV immediately after their performances.

Wow I just clicked on the poll and SURPRISE SURPRISE the poll is in an article on Adam where you know that all his bitter fans will spam the poll??? I seriously hope you don't think that the result is valid, do you? Of course America voted for Kris Allen. The result from an enormous voting population is definitely enough to disprove the results of those so-called "polls" which are statistically skewed.
AI8 has Kris as the American Idol. That's fine by me because ADAM is The World's Idol. AI is too small for him. It's good for someone like Kris who needs their machine to promote him. America is not ready for the sensual flamboyance of over the top ADAM or his smoking hot sexiness and drop dead gorgeousness. And his fans love it that he didn't compromise who he is for AI audience. The world is ready and embracing ADAM. Kris' American fans voted more (but doesn't equate to more fans than ADAM). In the real world, ADAM has more fans anywhere he goes and more so around the world.
America can have Kris. Let the World have ADAM!!!
adam's name comes first because the writers know that his name draws more hits--do a google comparison--adam wins again--we have left Idol land and now we are in the "real world"--better get use to it--adam rocks!

Wow, Kris' fans need to back off. It does not matter that Kris won, that is the past. He had his 15 minutes of fame. Who cares about the past? The future looks brighter for Adam. He has his record deal, he has a movie sound track, his song is on a television commercial, he has the "Rolling Stone Cover" and top Hollywood producers have him in their scope. Today Adam is far more popular and has world wide fans. Every night he sings his hart out in concert and converts more fans. Kris' win on Idol was yesterday's news. Snooze! Adam is making news today and he is the one people want to hear about. The writer knows what she is doing mentioning Adam first. History is in the making for the next entertainment icon.
David's fans are not here being annoying because Adam's name came first. We are much more centered. How silly.
Drove 500 miles roundtrip to Portland OR to see Idol Concert. The thousands in the audience went crazy over Adam! He blew the roof of the Rose Quarter. Kris' performance took less than 3 minutes to deflate the crowd.
He just doesn't have it to be a top entertainer.
Met Adam, Danny, Allison, Scott, Michael, Megan in the Hotel Monaco in downtown Portland after the concert. They were all wonderful people and an honor to meet! Adam, however, is an Icon. Both in talent and as a person. No one else can come close to reaching his potential and success. He's already a super star. Thousands of fans in Portland Oregon proved that without a doubt!

Time will tell. Albums will sell. And the true Idol will be revealed. People can power text votes, but they can't power text album sales.
I love David Cook too, but Adam stole my heart this year. He had me from Bohemian Raphsody (pre-makeup and glam) and the makeup just added a new level of appreciation. The guy is an amazing performer. If a writer wants attention for their article...they are wise to lead with "Adam Lambert." It's called strategic marketing.

Bottom line..get past the makeup, theatric's and screaming fans and listen to Adam's voice..its INSANELY GOOD.It was a singing competion..the BEST singer lost.

If Chris is the winner, why does he have to be accompanied by Adam all the time? David Cook it's all on his own, no David Archuleta next to him. I guess who wants to see him? Young girls that voted for him forgot him already!
Adam is the ICON of this century. A superstar. But he is also not only talented, wickedly gorgeous, he is someone you would want to be close to -- funny, sweet, honest-- and that is why he is just the whole package. Not to mention sexy. How could I forget that???

Kris fans are just mad, that Adam is getting all the attention. Adam gets the most screams at every concert. He didn't need to win, because he has the "IT" factor. Kris on the other hand needed to win, or else America would have forgotten him. In every concert recap I've read, it questions why Adam didn't win. If you look at their official websites, Kris mostly has 22 fans online, while Adam has over 400 online. Where are all Kris fans who voted for him? Oh wait there all in Arkansas...
Adam is the next Elvis. Yes, he's been compared to the King but he is far mroe talented and way more gorgeous -- and current. He just takes my breath away with his amazing talent, versatility, stage presence and beautiful voice. Who can go from "Come to Me, Bend to Me" from "Brigadoon" to "Whole Lotta Love" by Led Zeppelin? Not many. Adam is the new King and EVERYBODY knows it!!!
I was at Tampa concert -we went to see Adam. When he came out the audience exploded almost like they had been sleeping His performance blew me away He is hands down the best performer I have ever watched His vocals are beyond words and he was even more hot/sexy/handsome in person. After we got home I tried to see if I could get tickets to another concert and fly there to see him again. Several friends and I were considering this but finally decided we would save for his solo tour and try to go to that 2 or3 times. Adam is the best thing to happen in music industry in a long time!! Adam is awesome but some of his fans - the loud, deluded, obnoxious, overzealous ones who number themselves (WTHHH) and call themselves 'Glamberts' are beyond ridiculous and embarassing. Hope Adam knows he has SANE fans out there who are overshadowed by the crazies.
Kris' win is yesterday's news. Winning Idol does not mean that you have made it in the real world. Kris's 15 minutes of fame are over. Obviously Kris's Idol fans have moved on. Today's news is Adam Lambert. Today Adam is wowing the crowds and getting all the attention because he deserves it. Adam is compared to Freddie Mercury, Jeff Buckley and Matthew Bellamy by people in the music industry. Adam will be iconic. what ever fans Kris has left should get over it.
