Although Adam Lambert only had three songs labeled as "singles" here in America, he is definitely getting plenty of love on an international level. We have heard about "Sleepwalker" in Canada, "Aftermath" in Finland, and even "Fever" in parts of Southeast Asia and Australia.
Now, New Zealand is getting its fifth single from "For Your Entertainment" in "Sure Fire Winners," at least according to The Edge. The premiere of the song led to an enormous response from Adam's fans worldwide, as this marks yet another opportunity to have the former "American Idol" star's music out in the public before the next album actually releases in the fall.
For those curious, all four of Adam's previous songs in the country ("For Your Entertainment," "Whataya Want From Me," "If I Had You," and "Fever") all managed to become top twenty hits. However, the three without more play around the globes tended to fare better overall -- a trend that we have seen echoed with "Sleepwalker" in Canada.

Can someone tell me why more songs weren't released here in the State as singles?
US is far behind!! Need to wake up and accept Adam as a singer and entertainer not as a gay man!! I am thrilled for Adam and he is spreading love world wide!! When he came to Texas which is a Republican state made a "great hit"!!! Sold out in Dallas and Houston!!
Matt, we got Fever as a single in Denmark too :o)
Why on earth didn't they release more singles in HIS OWN COUNTRY???? Anyone know?
Sure Fire Winners is one of my top favorites on Adam's debut album, For Your Entertainment. I was hoping and praying that his label would release it here in the US! I'm asking the same question as all the other fans, why didn't his management release another single here in the US??? It's too long a time without radio air play until his next album comes out!
Matt, sadly "Fever" has not been released as a single in Australia but I wish it were, and I'd absolutely love "Sure Fire Winners" to be released here .... if only! Wishing huge success for this single in NZ and just maybe it might jump the Tasman to Australia.
what is wrong with the good ol' u.s. of a.???? "sure fire winners" should be heard at every sporting event along with gary glitter. get it??
Yaaaaaay NZ! Cannot wait til it plays! Just texted all my glambert buddies the awesome news!
So happy another of my favs off the CD. I am with you Ell, looking forward to hearing Adam again on the radio, with another of his amazing songs!
PR62 I agree!!! It should be out for March Madness!! Everyone in the late 70s walked in behind boom box guy blaring We Are the Champions!!! Boom Boom Chee!! Boom Boom Chee!!
So happy for Adam and New Zealand. Adam only had three releases here in U.S. with zero play with For Your Entertainment. I hear "sure fire winners" playing at NFL games and NBA games, so it is out there. Just no air play. We are in a rut with bad female singers and male hip hop. Adam fans are doing what we can.
Could it be that Adam Lambert himself might prefer waiting for his new album to launch a single accompanied by a great video? Just a thought...
Having said that, I can't understand at all why radio stations refuse to play songs that don't have an accompanying video or upcoming one. If an artist has proven that he is popular worldwide (as AL has done), why can't they play his entire CD? Does anyone know?
Hi Matt thanks for the article!! As a NZ fan, I can tell you we were soooo surprised and excited to hear the news yesterday!!
Three singles actually reached top 10 on our singles chart: FYE (#10) WWFM (#4) IIHY (#7). Fever peaked at #19.
I have wondered for a while now if Fever would have charted higher if it had an accoompanying video. It has done so well with airplay and is still featured high on the radioscope play charts. I think it has done at least as well as WWFM on radio, in fact I hardly hear WWFM these days, but plenty of FYE and IIHY along with Fever.
I feel very fortunate to live in NZ where we are now about to enjoy Adam's fifth single!!! :)
Yes! I want another music video too! I was making a petition (Weird, I know.) for getting one for Fever but it never happened. Although I cannot wait for Adam's lead single from his sophomore album. :)
What's wrong with his record company and his management?
If he doesn't release his next album until the fall, it's too long. He needs another single and another video.
It's really too bad that Sony overseas seems to spend more time and effort promoting Adam than his label here in his own country. Their TOTAL lack of promotion for his Acoustic LIVE ep astounds me. I somehow doubt that IF they do release a dvd of the Glamnation tour that it will receive any better promotion.
I honestly don't know if the label is lazy or stupid.
Hi Matt, just a note, "Fever" was released in NZ not Australia. Adam is played on our radio as much as Gaga, Pink, Katy P...... thank you
adam lambert congradulations on geting sure fire winners in new zeland
Sure Fire Winners should be out in the US! If there is something we know it is sports, and this is the perfect sporting event song. What is wrong with this picture? Please reconsider and release a song in the US. Can anyone shed some light on why they would not be putting another single out? WWFM and IIHY were well accepted-
Too bad we can't go back to the times when an artist's WHOLE album was played on the air. Not just one song at a time after release! DUMB! Dumb! Dumb! Music Industry!
Thats it....I want to move to New Zealand.....they know and play great music....So many songs off of FYE should be playing here in the USA...have to agree with Tess4ADAM....dumb, dumb, dumb..
if you are... Lol Nelson's nice, and Christchurch is kinda shaky Coz of the earthquake... Hahaha
Just have one thing to say--thats come on American Music Industry-get with it-give this superstar entertainer the recognition he deserves, we want to hear on our radios what the rest of the world hears, lots and lots of Adam!
