Adam Lambert fans tweet Elisabeth Hasselbeck into a corner
The View's Elisabeth Hasselbeck will probably think twice before she goes flapping her gums about Adam Lambert again. Elisabeth Hasselbeck's criticism of Adam Lambert after his controversial performance at the AMAs apparently set off an all out Twitter siege from Adam Lambert fans warning Hasselbeck to back off their Glam Idol.
The View cameras caught Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Adam Lambert running into each other in the hallway of the ABC studio where America's bitchiest sewing circle is filmed when Lambert was there for a rehearsal earlier this week. During Tuesday morning's sneak peak of Adam Lambert's performance, Elisabeth Hasselbeck pounced on Adam Lambert in the hallway, thrust her phone into his hands and demanded that he get on her Twitter page and let his fans know that she's backing down from her Puritanical stance on his racy American Music Awards revue.
The morning after the AMAs, Elisabeth Hasselbeck preached that Adam Lambert's performance was "way over the line," and then stated:
"Does anyone know what song he sang? And does anyone remember what he sounded like? Because let me tell you this, this is a mistake Adam Lambert will make time and time again. We will not remember him as a performer or someone with a voice if he continues to do this. He'll smarten up and sing."
Adam Lambert didn't say much on Hasselbeck's Twitter, just a quick "Hey this is Adam Lambert. Elisabeth has let me tweet from her phone," but he did let Hasselbeck know how much he appreciates the backup he gets from his fans.
"The fans are great," Adam Lambert told Elisabeth Hasselbeck. "They're so passionate, and they're very protective of me."
Elisabeth Hasselbeck denied any wrongdoing once again: "All I said was 'Adam is controversial'. That's all."
"That's okay," replied Lambert gently. "I like opinions."
Adam Lambert's pre-taped performance on The View airs Thursday, December 10th. Adam Lambert will be featured on Barbara Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People of 2009 special on Wednesday night.

I think Elizabeth Hasselbeck do understand why we are a little bit agressif about what she told the next day after the AMA's about Adam Lambert. She need to let him explain himself first, before she tell he would be always make the genre of performances and we never heard the real singer but just the guy who dance and performe a sexe thinks on the stage. But I think it will be a little bit soon to tell that. If she took a chance to know's him before she will understand what she understand now.
Now Elizabeth like a real humain woman take the time to know's him a little bit more and not because of AMA and I think she like him and now she understand why will love him and we will always protecting him for defamations or homophobic peoples or for discrimination. This guy's have a chance to learn and let him learn and make his own error before you juging him. He's a really good guy's. His a guy who are beautiful inside & outside! He think he have the same right that all stars have but now he know's it will be impossible because of Double Standards.

I don't think Elisabeth should've backed off at all. I looooove Adam and his music, but she was absolutely right about his performance; most people don't remember the song or the voice (his voice was awful that night); they only remember the controversy. Many of us Adam fans would've preferred he showed off his gorgeous voice and everyone would be talking about what a star he is. Elisabeth was right.
I really did not appreciate the negative things she said about Adam. She should know that an artist should be judged as a whole, not just by one performance that she didn't like. Even if she didn't get the AMA performance, she needs to emphasize what we all still know to be true: that Adam Lambert is a Rock God, and he has tons of dedicated loyal fans who will do anything for him and will follow that gorgeous man forever.
We are a very loyal, passionate and ultra protective lot of Adam fans. He gets it and now they should get it! Our gentle talented Adam is the best and I hope Hasselbeck and the other holier-than-thou one on The View now realize it.
Adam is just a lovely person and anyone who took his performance to be who Adam is (as so many of the complainers just don't get that Adam performs everything (S&M to Prayer) with passion, and at 110%). It is just a performance!!! Regardless I am glad people get that the double standard isn't appropriate to grump about Adam and not any of the other performances in the music industry or other times people have taken such liberties. Adam Rocks and I remember what song it was :-)

I just dislike her sooo much. Sure he's sounded better, even fans admit that. But to single HIM out as offensive when you look at the big picture is stupid. There are just as and more offensive things all over TV in all time frames. She needs to give her mouth a rest and exercise her thumb to turn the channel.
It's all good. Elizabeth can have her opinion. But Adam is kinda guy who has a big warm heart that can melt cold stone. Adam's fans are very supportive and protective, indeed! Very nice.
BTW, love Adam's album so very much! Anyone who hasn't heard it, go and get you one. It's just so great!
Maybe she will think twice next time before being so judgemental of his talents. What she needs is one of Adam's CD. Somebody should buy her one for Xmas.

Adam is a class act, as usual. He answered Elizabeth "gently." He is so poised and accomplished and smart and talented and gorgeous. He will be the King in the midst of peasants tomorrow, but he will treat his subjects with the usual, benevolent kindness.

He does know his fan base very well .... didn't expect that everyone would be thrilled by the AMA performance. Personally, I look back at the AI stuff and I'm bored. I LOVE the official, genuine, grown up who produced FYE and will continue to thrill and challenge us to JUST ENJOY!!
I love Adam, his CD is one of the best CD I've ever heard. But Elizabeth is right. And I don't see that she was going against him with her comment. She was stating a fact and her comment was spot on. She was acknowledging his wounderful talent, but stating that unfortunately, that's not what people are talking about. And she's right, it's not what people are talking about. Lately, I went to see what people thought of Adam on a source other than his fansite. Let me tell you that there were more negative comments than positive ones. As fans, we are not objective because we already know how versatile and amazing he is. At this point, Adam is still trying to get himself out there. Elizabeth even though she is very conservative and jugemental sometimes, was absolutely right. He should just sing, and not make people talk about things that are irrelevant. I consider myself to be an Adam fan, but sometimes, I do believe that his fans are overprotective. He can make mistakes, he's not perfect.
I liked Adam until he took it upon himself to without warning to expose people's children to the sight of him humping some man's face. He's trash. And only homosexuals and people who are,afraid of sounding homophobic are defending this disgusting display.
So "Truth" has a right to dump Adam as his/her idol after being disgusted with the AMA performance. But, let's have the whole truth. I am a big fan, I personally think Adam did go over the line. But,I'm sick of people acting like children's innocence was lost with the final performance of the night, and not thru the performances that preceded it. Janet J grabbing a man's privates was somehow okay, Eminem bragging about the women he had raped was ok and all the women dancers bumping and grinding pelvis thrusts to the camera was okay? Double standard. I don't defend Adam's overt sexual performance, but yes, I do think people are reacting to it more intensely because he is a male and because he is gay. My teenage kids watched the show and the face to the crotch thing went right past them. It was brief, fully clothed and in the middle of a dance. They missed it. The whole truth is if you are offended by Adam's performance than you should have been offended at least two hours earlier.
I watched Barbara Walters special tonight just to watch Adam, and Lady GAGA. I love them both. Both interviews were way too short. They should have had the show all to themselves. Of course Barbara brought up personal questions about their sexuality. I wonder how Barbara would feel if they asked her what its like to be an adulteress? She should have spent more time talking about ther amazing music, tours, and CD's.

She said she likes him, she said she didn't like that part w him and the girl, but she said he is a nice guy and there hoopla was mischaracterizing him. She said the performance was at 11pm in the adult time zone. She and all ladies on The View like and support him. No, for me she know's him now and I think, she juge him to fast in first time and when she meat him I really think that Adam are a good guy's and funny guy's to with amazing voice and now she appreciat him. The AMA performance may have sparked some controversy, but that's no reason to attack Adam. I'm glad the woman saw sense and backed off. XD
And, personally, I think the riot Adam caused with his act is an overreaction. So what if his idea of being 'in the moment' was to get a bit suggestive? It was out of hand, but not THAT bad. Get over it.
