Adam Lambert has spent the last few days in Russia, having performed at the Maxidrom 2011 Festival in Moscow yesterday. While there, he made sure embrace the Russian culture, enjoying Russian vodka both while at the airport and during the concert. This morning he tweeted a photo of his vodka drink (seen here) while waiting at the airport, saying:
“Airport bar in Moscow. Sipping Russian vodka and Bad Romance is playing. #nostrovia”
“Heavy pour. #nostrovia http://say.ly/WCQmIO”
For those that do not speak Russian, “Nostrovia” can be translated to “Cheers!”
Adam also partook in some vodka during his performance at the festival yesterday. Just before singing If I Had You, he produced a small cup of vodka, shouted “Na zdorovye" (translated as “to your health”) downed the shot, and then said “Oh, I love Russia” before introducing the song.

This is the first time Adam has visited Moscow and his performance was a huge success. Excited fans in attendance tweeted from the show and then posted videos and photos for hours after it concluded. However, there was a damper put on the trip for Adam, when he learned that gay activists were arrested at the Moscow Gay Pride march at the same time as he was performing. He tweeted a link to an article about the arrests yesterday and said:
“So shocked that this happened today at the same hour and same city as I was performing in. #majordamperonthings"
Adam is currently in the process of writing and recording his sophomore album. So far, the only upcoming live performance scheduled is in Canada at the St. Agathe en Feux Festival in Sainte-Agathe-des-Monts, Quebec on July 29.
