Adam Lambert paid a visit to Nashville’s, Ryman Auditorium, for his Glam Nation Tour last night. Lucky fans-that were able to score a ticket for the sold out show-spent weeks before the show, twittering and gushing about his stop in Music City. They were not disappointed.
Opening for Adam, was American Idol (AI) alum, Allison Iraheta. Her six set show was highlighted with Aussie guitarist, Orianthi, shredding her axe for the crowd. Also, in the house, were two more AI alum, Kellie Pickler and Chris Sligh.
Adam’s show consisted of three parts and as many costume changes. He also had four dancers in attendance-2 male and 2 female. The entire concert lasted three hours but Adam’s set was only a little more than an hour. The almost 2,400 fans, packed into the Mother Church, were not pleased with this.
During the first part, wearing a top hat and long fringed jacket, Adam sang Voodoo, Down the Rabbit Hole, and as anticipated-the Johnny Cash favorite-Ring of Fire. The audience jumped out of their seats and roared! He also sang Fever and then changed into a long black coat and sang Sleepwalker.
Part two was all acoustic. While seated on a stool, Adam performed Whataya Want from Me, Soaked and Aftermath.
After another long costume change, into a black sparkly sleeveless vest, Adam belted out Sure Fire Winners, Strut, Music Again and If I Had You.
Mr. Lambert came back on stage for a two song encore-Mad World and Whole Lotta Love. Both tunes were sung by him on AI but they were re-arranged this time to sound different than the first recordings.
Even though the Glam singer had told Randy Travis that he had ‘no plans’ to play the Grand Ol’ Opry-which is now at the Ryman due to flooding, Adam, told the crowd he was happy to be here. Fans are glad that he changed his mind.
