Adam Lambert defended American Idol producers Friday in the scandal over over disqualified Season 9 contestant Chris Golightly.

Adam Lambert told reporters: "This guy who got disqualified feels screwed, but it's not 19's fault; they're just trying to be fair. Sometimes these things are just out of your control and business is business."

"19" refers to "19 Entertainment," the production company responsible for American Idol.

'American Idol' crooner Chris Golightly disqualified from competition

Chris Golightly was originally selected to be one of the 24 semi-finalists in this season's American Idol competition, but the show's producers announced late Wednesday that he had been disqualified from the competition due to a contractual conflict with a former manager. The Los Angeles Times reported Friday that Golightly's disqualification may have simply been a result of his former manager not forwarding release paperwork to the show in a timely manner.  Golightly was replaced in the American Idol Top 24 by Tim Urban.

Adam Lambert also stated that he had faced his own challenges with former managers hoping to cash in on his American Idol windfall:

"The way the entertainment industry works is the minute you get any notoriety, people want to capitalize on it. It can be really difficult because those things are sometimes out of your control and, like it or not, people can be sneaky or kind of heartless in trying to get something from you once you get to a certain point."

Chris Golightly states that American Idol producers have said he is ineligible to audition for the show's next season.

What a corporate puppet Adam Lambert is. He knows that without Uncle "19" he has nothing. No real voice...nothing real to say other than he likes being famous & dressing up.

The previous writer claims Adam Lambert has no real voice and nothing real to say. He's obviously either deaf or dumb to make a statement like that. Actually he's probably both, because Adam has one of the most beautiful voices ever and is extremely articulate and thoughtful in everything he says.

ADAM has been under more scrutiny since he walked out on the idol stage than any other contestant in the history of Idol. He's been maligned by everyone who has an opinion especially on these message boards. Not once has he run away or complained about it. He is adult enough to know that the world isn't always fair. So he moves on. Chris Golightly should take a tip from what ADAM has had to encounter & make 'lemonade' out of the 'lemons' that life sometimes gives to us.

of course life aint fair.... none of us can say it better than Adam because he as been where chris is or rather was... but we havent, being a fan of adam i quite openly say that he is neither deaf nor dumb and has an awesome voice that his looks deserve. but every company, industry has their own faults why cnt "19" have them, nobody nor anything is perfect. so its not adams, or chris or the 19's fault, its just the way life is, nothing goes the way we like.
