Adam Lambert warned fans Sunday night at the American Music Awards (AMAs) that it was about to get rough and then he started to sing. Adam Lambert was a recent runner up in the American Idol competition, and last night he performed immediately after Taylor Swift gave her acceptance speech for 2009 Artist of the Year.
Lambert made several gestures during his live performance, and many were edited out. He kissed the male keyboardist, flipped off the audience, and made some simulated sexual gestures. Producers of the show were not aware of what he planned to do. And many people are saying this morning that because Lambert is gay, cutting out his performance may have been considered discrimination.

Just read thru your article. Adam Lambert actually didn't win American Idol. He was a runner up. That being said.. let's move along to his performance. My jaw was on the floor. If he was looking for shock value, he definitely achieved that.

Ok, so he grabbed his crotch- so did Micheal Jackson ALOT! And he kissed someone of the same sex. Didn't Madonna & Brittany do that years ago? I thought that putting someones face in his crotch area was a bit much though. I didn't get to see the performance, but saw pics of it. Would be interesting to see the real thing but I don't know how enjoyable it would be!

OMG you people are just being so rude because hes gay and had another guys head in his crotch and then kissed another guy. There are soooooo many other performers who have been way more racy in performances, music videos, concerts.... stop being jerks and love his talent. And to to all the parents: Why do you have your kids watching a late night show without you previewing it first? So yeah, its your fault for being stupid. It is a live show with adult performances, COMMON SENSE PEOPLE!!!!

I like Adam, think he has great vocals and moves. He might have gone slightly overboard with the crotch thing but thats not different from the stuff Shakira struts nor the band KISS for that matter. He's talented but has to target a specific niche. I appreciate good art and music but some images I find disturbing like that guy being pulled on a latch in the video- like sadistic cult sexual acts woh woh!!!Good luck man- you have a significant following

I am a straight 42 year old female and I loved the performance. It was hot and more artist have done racier things than that. The problem these folks are complaining about are because of their closed minds. Look his songs are great, his CD is unbelievable. Were we not watching the same AMA? The females were risque and did very provacative things. The rappers sang about rapping women. Are you seriously having a problem with a kiss and come on the "simulated oral sex". Let's review anatomy folks. The dancer's head was at Adam's waist line folks not in his nether region. Unlike Janet and Key's dancers who were kneeling down in front of them at the appropriate oral sex area and yet not one single complaint that their dancers were "Simulating Oral Sex". What a huge double standard. Get real!
It was a horrible show, he has a wonderful voice and is so talented; why must he waste it on that sexual gross content. So what if he's gay, I don't grab my husband crouch in public nor do I throw my head in his. I think that kind of performance gives gays a bad name and rep. Your wasting your talent on slim.
Adam is HOT!!! Adam may have in some peoples’ opinion gone a little overboard. But, the lyrics of the song he sang were about SEX and AMA new that…as well as all the provocative dancers/dancing on stage. Having watched Lambert on American Idle he’s been a “performer” since he was very young and he is very comfortable in that element. Lambert’s appeal was both his vocals PLUS his ability to perform!!! Good luck Adam!
Thank you honest in milpitas. I agree, great voice and telent wasted on a bad song and worse preformance. Forget all the other stuff, I'll hold judgement until nest time.
Although I am a Kris Allen fan, Adam's performance wasn't as bad as everyones making it out to be. SEVERAL women could do the same thing and it wouldnt be causing such a controversy. Thats bs. So what if he's gay. He's hot and confident, let him do his thing! If all these moms are mad because of his performance maybe you shouldnt let your kids watch any music video at that. Performers now and days contain A LOT of sexual content. Just because hes a gay male doesnt mean hes not entitled to the same. Do your thing Adam!
