Nature photographers around East Tennessee will have the opportunity on Saturday, April 24th, to learn from one of America’s best photographers of the natural world. Adam Jones, who specializes in travel, nature, and wildlife photography, will be conducting an all-day classroom workshop at Pellissippi State Community College.
Jones has won many awards for his work with the camera and is one of 62 photographers around the world to be selected by Canon to be an Explorer of Light. An internationally recognized stock photographer, his work has appeared in more than 30 countries. He is also the author of numerous books on nature photography, including two books on the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. In addition to shooting and writing, Jones conducts international and domestic photo tours, workshops, and seminars. You can see more than 3500 of his images at www.adamjonesphoto.com.
Canon is sponsoring Jones in cooperation with Southern Appalachian Nature Photographers (SANP), a Knoxville-based organization of amateur and professional nature photographers. The workshop, which is open to the public, has room for 150 participants and costs $20, including lunch. It is being held in the Goins Auditorium on Pellissippi State’s Hardin Valley campus and will go from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Pre-registration is required, and forms may be picked up at Thompson Photo Products, 2019 Middlebrook Pike, in Knoxville.
With East Tennessee’s spring beauty in full glory, now is a great time to learn from a master how to photograph it.
