On Jan. 9 it was announced that Three Days Grace's lead vocalist Adam Gontier will no longer be in the band. Gontier has resigned from the band due to a non-life threatening health issue. Matt Walst of My Darkest Days will take on the role of Three Days Grace's lead vocalist for their upcoming co-headlining tour with Shinedown.
In an issued press released bass player Brad Walst commented, "We were surprised and distressed by Adam's sudden departure. We are however very excited for this upcoming tour, and to have my brother Matt stepping in as lead singer."
The band found out on Dec. 21 that Gontier wanted to leave the band. On their official website the band wrote, "We were as shocked as many of you were to hear the news. Three Days Grace has always been and will continue to be not only our job but our passion. Instead of cancelling the tour, we felt an obligation to you, the fans, to forge ahead and put on the best show we can."
Three Days Grace posted Matt Walst singing a couple of their songs on the band's official SoundCloud page, which you can listen to here. There is no word on who will permanently be the band's lead vocalist.
