Acura Integra performance parts

Acura Integra's are a great rev hungry vehicle to modify. There is a couple of different levels of Integra, but all of them come with the same sized engine. The LS, RS, and GS-R are the three trim levels. GS-R is the only one to contain Honda's VTEC adjustable cam technology. Expect to generate anywhere from 200-900 hp out of an Acura Integra. Daily drivers have a common horse power goal of around 250. Only the most fierce, drag racing Acura Integra will try to attain 600+ hp. In some extreme engineering cases, upwards of 1000 hp can be attained. That is a lot of power for such a light weight vehicle.

The newer version of the Acura Integra is the RSX. The RSX is a design based on the original Integra. It's obvious by them both resembling a triangular shaped chassis. This design is best for handling, performance, and curb appeal! There isn't any other car that looks like an Acura Integra, besides the RSX of course lol. Combine these great looks with some aftermarket body kits and a nice performance package and you've got a very nice JDM.

The in-line four cylinder engines used in the Acura Integra are some of the best engines Acura has ever made. Light weight, and a somewhat larger displacement than other vehicles in it's class make for better performance. Aerodynamics and a sport suspension from the factory compliment aftermarket modifications.

The late model 90's Acura Integra series in my opinion is one of the best vehicles to modify. It features the four cylinder engine power house, in an extremely light and sporty package. Modifications from later year Integra's can be adapted to fit on the older version Integra vehicles. It is amazing the amount of performance that can be created in an Integra.

Some owners like to use larger turbo chargers to modify their Acura Integra. This forced induction modification is a great way to gain lots of power. Depending on the size of turbo you choose, several supporting modifications will be required. Luckily, the Acura Integra is a race inspired vehicle. Out of the box, it's pretty fast to begin with.

Common Acura Integra modifications:

  • Fuel system
  • ECU tuning
  • Exhaust
  • Intake
  • Wheels
  • Suspension
  • Weight reduction

Over all, Acura makes a high rpm, bullet proof motor. I have seen some crazy things done to an Acura engine and it still runs. Ingenuity gets creative when it comes to squeezing out the last drop of power. If you want to use a turbo, make sure you upgrade for appropriate fueling. Running your car lean can do damage to the engine. It is rare an Acura engine blows, but it does happen.

Appropriate fuel system upgrades consist of fuel injectors, fuel rails, fuel pressure regulators, fuel filters, and high pressure fuel pumps. Upgrading fuel lines and adding a fuel pressure gauge to the system will help you prevent engine fires. When upgrading your car, it is wise to take every step possible to prevent fire from occuring.

The Acura Integra is an extremely light weight vehicle in it's stock form; a great candidate for weight reduction. By removing extra stock components you don't need a couple hundred pounds can be removed resulting in better handling, performance, acceleration, and sound. Removal of sound deadening materials allow better acoustics inside the cabin.Taking out the air conditioning system can remove rotating mass and reduce weight at the same time. Typically an aftermarket pulley system can be used to delete the air conditioning system out of the drive belt.
